Bonnie Dixon Receives Provost’s Excellence in Teaching Award for Professional Track Faculty. Dixon was recognized for her impact in curriculum development, medical school application support and student mentorship.

The Gemstone Honors students are researching whether common varieties of mushrooms can prevent infections linked to medical implants.

Lawrence Sita, Danyon Fischbach (Ph.D. ’23, chemistry) and Charlotte Wentz (Ph.D. ’22, chemistry) developed a new method using specialized tools to modify a type of plastic called Poly(4-methyl-1-pentene) (PMP).

Cosmetic chemist Ama Gyedu (B.S. ’17, chemistry) blends artistry with science to develop new and improved formulations for personal care products like makeup and perfume.

The grant will support Kahn’s project on computer simulation of DNA replication for biochemistry/biological sciences courses.
