Admission to the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is subject to English proficiency as tested by the TOEFL (ets.org/toefl) or the IELTS (ielts.org). The minimum requirements for unconditional admission are given by the Graduate School and are as follows:

iBT TOEFL: Total of 96, Speaking of 22, Listening of 24, Reading of 26 and Writing of 24.

IELTS: Overall of 7, Speaking of 6.5, Listening of 7, Reading of 7 and Writing of 7.

If your scores fall below these requirements, the Graduate School will determine if you are admitted provisionally. In such case, you will have to take an English test upon arrival.
