Our primary goal is to maintain instrumentation for Chemistry teaching labs. Faculty, teaching assistants, and students should contact the Electronics Shop immediately if you have problems with or operational questions about any instrumentation in your teaching lab. Also, please report any situation which may cause damage to lab instruments-power, leaks, temperature, etc.

The resources of the electronics shop are also available to the department’s research labs. You can have equipment repaired and calibrated. The Electronics Shop works on gas chromatographs, opto-electronics, FTIRs, balances, shakers, chillers, hotplate stirrers, temperature controllers, and other equipment. There is a $60 per hour charge for services from the Electronics Shop.

Please be sure that equipment is not contaminated with hazardous materials before submitting requests for repair. Refrigeration compressors cannot be replaced on site.
