The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the University of Maryland seeks applicants at all levels who will bring significant records of achievement and high visibility. We seek outstanding leaders in the chemical sciences whose research interests complement existing strengths in the department and across the University and who are committed to achieving excellence in academic programs. We are particularly interested in those with expertise in inorganic chemistry or bio-inspired chemistry (bioorganic / chemical biology / materials) although nominees or applicants in all areas will be considered. As part of the world-class College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences, members of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry participate in university and government-sponsored centers, and enjoy close interactions and collaborations with government labs that include the NIH, NRL, FDA, and NIST. The University of Maryland, College Park is the flagship campus of the University of Maryland System and is ideally situated in close proximity to Washington, D. C., Baltimore, and Maryland's 270 Technology Corridor. Qualifications: We seek scholars who have or will build highly visible, widely acclaimed research programs and have or will achieve excellence in education. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. degree, demonstrated accomplishments in independent research, and be an effective educator in the chemical sciences.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications.
